An appointment without the trip
Telehealth uses a video appointment rather than a clinic room. It may be an option for people in regional NSW, people with mobility needs or those who prefer to attend from a private place.
It is not suitable for every person or every assessment. We check the clinical needs, where you will be during the appointment and the funding arrangements first.
What you need
- A private place where you can speak without being overheard.
- A device with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection and enough battery.
- Your appointment link and a telephone number we can use if the connection drops.
Use headphones if helpful. Do not join while driving. Let us know before the appointment if privacy, technology or accessibility may be a problem.
Choosing someone who offers online care
Use the online option in Find Your Psych. It will show only profiles that list telehealth, rather than filtering by the psychologist's physical clinic at the same time.
The results describe profiles, not live diary vacancies. Our team confirms appointments and any referral or approval requirements.

Funding needs to cover the proposed service and meet the scheme requirements. An approved in-person appointment does not always answer every question about changing the format.
The current NSW fee schedule includes psychology telehealth items. We confirm the applicable arrangements rather than asking you to assume that a video appointment is free.
Privacy and safety
At the start of care, your psychologist will discuss privacy, your location, emergency contacts and what to do if a connection fails. Tell them if someone else is in the room or you cannot speak freely.
If you will be outside NSW or Australia, contact us before booking. Professional, insurance and funding requirements may differ.
