Work can become difficult without one clear incident
Restructuring, conflicting instructions, unclear responsibilities or poor support can create pressure. Problems may be harder to manage when they occur together, such as a new role with a high workload and little guidance.
It is reasonable to seek help for the effect on your health. That is separate from whether the situation meets the rules for a workers compensation claim.
A place to think through what is happening
Your psychologist can help you describe the concerns, understand the effect on your mood and daily life, and identify manageable priorities. You may want support with worry, sleep, boundaries or difficult conversations.
Treatment is not about deciding which colleague is right. It does not replace workplace mediation, an investigation or employment advice.
Management action and claims
A workplace process can be upsetting without automatically creating a compensable injury. Reasonable management action is relevant to NSW claim decisions, and the rules can be complex.
Do not use a website checklist to decide your eligibility. Ask your insurer, union or legal adviser about your situation. Your GP can help with the clinical assessment.
Other ways to access psychology
When WorkCover funding is unavailable or uncertain, ask us about private fees and other referral options. Any Medicare arrangements need to meet their own requirements. We do not switch billing pathways without discussing it with you.
You can still ask for care even if you are not making a claim.
